Black Friday is the one time of year when the expensive dog gear, the stuff you put off buying, is most likely to be discounted. This page isn't a list of whatever happens to be marked down. It's the gear from our own researched guides that we'd actually buy, grouped by what it's for, with one honest line on why each is worth grabbing if it's discounted. We can't see Amazon's prices, so there are no prices here: check each one yourself, and use the price-history tip below before you buy.

How to use this list
Every pick below is already in one of our full guides, where you'll find the sizes, the evidence behind it and the trade-offs. The links here go to Amazon search results for each product, so you can see every size and seller.
The best Black Friday buys for dogs tend to be the big, durable things: a thick foam bed, a crash-tested crate, a high-velocity dryer. Small things like poop bags and treats rarely move much, and you'll buy them again next month anyway.
Dog beds
Big Barker 7" Orthopedic Dog Bed with Headrest
The deepest foam in our orthopedic dog bed guide: 7 inches in three layers, made for large and giant breeds, and backed by a 10-year no-flatten warranty. It's one of the most expensive beds we list, which is exactly why it's worth waiting for a discount.
Casper Dog Bed
The most-tested bed on our orthopedic list, with memory foam over a firmer support layer and a digging-resistant top. It suits small and medium dogs best; the sleep area is 3.5 inches deep, so for a heavy dog we'd still pick the Big Barker. The cover isn't waterproof.
Bedsure Orthopedic Dog Bed
The budget pick from our beds for senior dogs guide: low, flat, crate-friendly and sold with a waterproof liner. It's egg-crate foam, so it's less supportive than solid memory foam for a big dog, but it's an easy one to stock up on for a crate or a second room.
Best Friends by Sheri Calming Donut Cuddler
The classic round bed from our donut dog bed guide, in sizes up to 45 inches for big dogs who sleep curled up. It's fiber fill, not foam, so it isn't a joint-support bed, and Whole Dog Journal found the fill flattens over time.
Winter gear
K&H Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Pet Bed
Black Friday lands just as the nights get cold. This is the heated pick from our outdoor dog bed guide: K&H says it warms only while your dog is on it, and it's built for garages, barns and sheds. It needs an outlet and a sheltered spot, and the sizes run small (the Large is 25 × 36 inches).
Harnesses
Ruffwear Front Range Harness
Our top pick for French bulldogs, with front and back leash points, four adjustment points and foam padding. Ruffwear gear rarely needs replacing, so a discount on a harness your dog will wear for years is a good one to catch. Check the chest chart before you order.
Blue-9 Buckle-Neck Balance Harness
The fit pick from our dachshund harness guide: six adjustment points, including the back strap, and a buckle neck so nothing goes over your dog's head. It's straps only, with no padding, and the first fitting takes a few rounds of adjusting.
Ruffwear Flagline Harness
A padded top handle and a belly panel make this the one for a dog who needs a hand up stairs or into the car. It's more harness than a tiny mini dachshund needs; for dogs under about 11 lb, our guide points to lighter options.
Crates
Impact High Anxiety Crate
The top pick in our heavy duty dog crate guide: welded aluminum, four extra latches and a 10-year dog-damage warranty. It's very expensive, so if you've been waiting on it, Black Friday is the time to look. It has no tie-down points, so it isn't a car crate. Impact also sells direct, so compare before you order.
Gunner G1 Kennel
The crate most people mean by "crash tested". The Center for Pet Safety lists it as CPS Certified, 5 Star, in three sizes when used with Gunner's anchor straps; the Large size isn't certified. Our travel dog crate guide has the size details. A big purchase, and a good one to time.
MidWest QuietTime Defender Crate Pad
Our everyday pick in the crate pad guide: made to fit MidWest wire crates from 24 to 48 inches, reversible, and washer and dryer friendly. It's foam and fabric, so skip it for a dog that chews bedding.
Grooming
Flying Pig Double Grooming Dryer
The fastest dryer in Whole Dog Journal's test and our top pick for double-coated dogs in the dog dryer guide. It's large, heavy and loud, and too much dryer for a small dog. Keep the box: Whole Dog Journal's first unit had a motor failure.
Wahl Bravura Lithium Ion Clipper
The top pick in our dog clippers guide: a five-in-one adjustable blade, cord or cordless, for feet, faces and small-to-medium dogs. Wahl's page now points to the newer Bravura 2, and retailers still sell both, so check which model you're buying before you check out.
Chris Christensen Big G Slicker Brush
A pricey brush from a brand professional groomers use, with long, dense pins for thick feathering. It's our top slicker for golden retrievers. The pins are firm, so use a light hand.
FURminator Undercoat deShedding Tool
The one to have ready for blowing-coat season. Groomers warn that blade-style tools can thin a coat's guard hairs if overused, so stick to about once a week in shedding season, with light strokes.
Car gear
4Knines Rear Seat Cover with Hammock
Our top pick in the car seat cover guide for large dogs, in two widths that cover most cars and SUVs, and washer-safe per 4Knines. 4Knines says the seams aren't watertight.
Sleepypod Clickit Sport
A CPS Certified, 5 Star car harness in all four sizes, and our pick for medium and large dogs in the dog car seat guide. It costs more than a standard harness, and fitting is fiddly the first few times. Pair it with a seat cover, because your dog rides on the seat itself.
PetSafe Happy Ride Extra Long Telescoping Dog Ramp
Adjusts from 47 to 87 inches, the longest reach in our dog ramp for car guide, for trucks and tall SUVs. At 18 lb it's a lot to lift into a high cargo bay.
PetSafe CozyUp Folding Pet Steps
The indoor partner to a ramp: carpeted treads, raised edges and a fold-flat frame, our top pick in the dog stairs for bed guide. The rubber feet may slip on slick floors.
How to tell a real Black Friday discount
A "was" price next to a lower one doesn't prove much. Some prices rise in the weeks before Black Friday, so the markdown looks bigger than it is. Here's how to check in a couple of minutes:
- Look at the price history. Free price trackers such as Keepa and CamelCamelCamel chart an Amazon product's price over months. If the Black Friday price matches what it cost in, say, September, it isn't a real discount.
- Check the exact model and size. Brands sometimes sell an older or smaller version alongside the current one (the Wahl Bravura above is an example). Make sure the discounted listing is the size and model our guide recommends.
- Check the seller. On the product page, see who ships and sells it. The brand or Amazon itself is the safest bet for warranty claims.
- Check the return window on the product page before you buy, especially for beds and crates, where the right size matters most.
- Set a price alert in Keepa or CamelCamelCamel for anything you'd buy at the right price, then let it tell you when to look.
When Amazon's Black Friday starts
Amazon's Black Friday doesn't wait for Friday. In 2025, its US Black Friday event started on Thursday, November 20, more than a week before Black Friday itself, and ran through Cyber Monday on December 1. Amazon usually announces its dates a few weeks ahead, so expect a similar pattern this year: Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is November 30. Popular sizes of beds and crates can sell out before the weekend.
Gift ideas for dog owners
If you're buying for someone else's dog, size is the risk: a harness or bed in the wrong size is a hassle to return. Safer gifts don't depend on the dog's measurements:
- For the dog who rides along: the 4Knines seat cover. It fits most back seats, and a dog owner will use it every week.
- For a fluffy dog: the Chris Christensen slicker or the FURminator. Check the coat type and dog size on each before you buy.
- For an older dog: the PetSafe CozyUp steps, which help a small or medium dog get onto the sofa or bed.
- For someone who bathes a big dog at home: a high-velocity dryer saves real time. The Flying Pig is the fast one; our dryer guide has gentler, quieter options too.
FAQs
Is Black Friday a good time to buy a dog bed?
Often, yes. Beds, crates and dryers are the bigger purchases where a discount makes the most difference. Check the bed's price history first, and make sure the discounted size is the one your dog needs.
Should I wait for Cyber Monday instead?
Not necessarily. Amazon runs its Black Friday and Cyber Monday events back to back, and popular sizes can sell out early. If the price history shows the price you were hoping for, there's little reason to wait.
Why don't you show prices?
We can't see Amazon's live prices, and they change many times a day, so any number we printed would soon be wrong. Each link takes you to Amazon, where you'll see the current price.

Buy the gear you'd want anyway, check the price history, and let Black Friday knock some off the bill.
